NEMA advocates for narrow targets,time limits on potential China tariffs

On August 21,the National Electrical Manufacturers Association(NEMA)testified on behalf of its Member companies that would be materially affected by additional tariffs proposed by the Office of U.S.Trade Representative(USTR)on products made in China.The Administration is considering whether to place 10 or 25 percent additional tariffs on$200 billion in Chinese goods,of which$18 billion are of direct interest to NEMA Member companies,in its efforts to bring about changes in China’s intellectual property and industrial policies and practices.
8月21日，美国国家电气制造商协会(NEMA)代表其成员公司作证，这些公司将受到美国贸易代表办公室(USTR)对中国制造产品提出的附加关税的实质性影响。为了改变中国的知识产权以及产业政策和做法，美国政府正在考虑对2，000亿美元的中国商品征收10%或25%的附加关税，其中180亿美元与NEMA成员公司直接相关。
