The research team used evolutionary strategies to optimize the motion rhythm of the robot,avoiding the complexity of manual planning.At the same time,it obtained the motion information of the robot through the visual sensor to realize closed-loop control of the motion process.The flexibility of movement,the adaptability to the environment,and the friendliness of contact with people make modular soft robots have potential applications in many fields,such as space development,emergency rescue,and helping the elderly and the disabled.
