The progress of the machine tool industry cannot be successfully driven by capital alone,and a market-oriented mechanism is needed.Even if the investment object is technology,what capital values is the exclusive resources that technology can bring.However,for the machine tool industry,its technological progress cannot bring commercial profits.

According to market estimates,the market capacity of machine tools is only equivalent to 2.5%of the market capacity of its production objects,and the real data is probably less than 1%.The once brilliant”Eighteen Arhats”have basically entered the market long ago,but all of them are currently unsatisfactory.The most noteworthy companies in China’s mother machine industry,such as Dalian Guangyang,Beijing Jingdiao,Shanghai Tuopu,etc.,have one thing in common,that is,they have made great efforts in the numerical control system and characteristic technology,and are closely integrated with the user industry.After sales,software upgrades,process upgrades and other services are still provided.

机床行业进步仅靠资本驱动是难以成功的，需要的是市场化的机制。即便投资对象是技术，资本看重的也是技术可以带来的独占性资源。但是，对于机床行业而言，其技术进步并不能带来商业暴利。

据市场估算，机床的市场容量仅相当于其生产对象市场容量的2.5%，而真实数据恐怕连1%都还不到。曾经辉煌的“十八罗汉”基本早就进入市场，但目前全部不尽如人意。中国母机行业目前最值得关注的企业，如大连光洋、北京精雕、上海拓璞等，有一个共性，就是在数控系统及特色工艺上下了很大功夫，与用户行业紧密结合协同创新，在机床销售后仍提供软件升级、工艺升级等服务。
