Every year,HMS Networks conducts an analysis of the industrial networking market to estimate the distribution of newly installed nodes in factory automation.This year’s research shows that the industrial networking market is expected to grow by 8%in 2022.Industrial Ethernet remains the fastest growing,currently accounting for 66%of all newly installed nodes(up from 65%last year).Fieldbus has a 27%market share(up from 28%last year),while wireless still has a 7%market share.PROFINET and EtherNet/IP tied for the top spot with a 17%market share each,but EtherCAT has also grown rapidly and is a close second,currently at 11%.
